General rental terms and conditions

During your stay at the Cité, you agree with the following general terms :

  1. The rental rate of housing and extra bed is divided into a monthly, weekly or daily rate
  2. To qualify for a Student, Trainee or Former Resident rate (ESAR), I must present a valid proof (student card, training certificate, ...)
  3. A tourist tax of CHF 2.50 is charged per night and per person (from 6 years of age)
  4. The tourist tax (art. 10 RTour) grants me the Geneva Transport Card (GTC) of the Genevas Public Transportation company (www.tpg.ch) which, in the case of long stay, must be renewed every 15 days to be valid
  5. A basic Internet access (CITEU - Basic Internet Access) is available free of charge (self-registering). Broadband and high speed access (CITEU-PREMIUM) is also available (online purchase), with daily, weekly or monthly rates.
  6. We do not offer pension (breakfast and dinner) with our accommodation.
  7. The keys received to access the room are the following (in case of loss, the guest accepts to pay for its replacement):
    • 1 room key CHF 50.-
    • 1 mailbox key CHF 12.50
    • 1 drawer key CHF 12.50
    • 1 keychain CHF 15.-
  8. To access the common places (such as kitchen or fridge room) it is possible to obtain the appropriate key against deposit (refundable on departure) for buildings A and B. I must wash and store the dishes I use
  9. The stay is payable in advance upon arrival, weekly payments must be made in case of long stay
  10. No extension of stay will be possible without payment of the outstanding stay
  11. Check-out time is at 10 a.m.
  12. Any default in the room must be reported to the Reception
  13. Any damage caused by negligence or intentionally will be charged
  14. The bedding is changed once a week
  15. Staff are not allowed to provide private services and it will not be given any tips
  16. Children that are accompanying me are under in my full responsibility
  17. In case of emergency I shall observe the instructions displayed on the door of my lodging
  18. The Cité Universitaire de Genve is not responsible for any personal belongings lost or stolen in the room or premises of the residence
  19. Silence must be strictly observed from 10 p.m., both in private lodgings, in common places and outside the buildings. External visitors must leave the residence at 11:30 p.m. the latest
